Bálint Bíró is a filmmaker from Hungary. Based in Budapest, he works as a freelance documentary director and cinematographer. 

He studied filmmaking at Arts University Bournemouth in England between 2015 and 2018. In 2018 he was awarded an Erasmus Mundus scholarship by the DocNomads Master’s Course in Documentary Film Directing, held between Portugal, Belgium, and Hungary. He is an alumnus of IDFA Academy 2020, and Sarajevo Talents 2021.

His films were screened at film festivals such as IDFA, Sarajevo Film Festival, FipaDoc Biarritz, Astra Film Festival, Camerimage, and Jihlava IDFF.

Together with Zsófia Paczolay, he is the founder of the MOHA Films Collective, creating films between Hungary and the Netherlands. 

Bálint is a mentor and lecturer on the DocNomads Master’s Course, a member of MADOKE, the Hungarian Documentary Association, and works as a festival programmer for the Budapest International Documentary Film Festival.
