Bálint Bíró is a filmmaker from Hungary.
Based in Budapest, he works as a freelance documentary director, cinematographer and editor.
He studied filmmaking at Arts University Bournemouth in England between 2015 and 2018. In 2018 he was awarded an Erasmus Mundus scholarship by the DocNomads Master’s Course in Documentary Film Directing, held between Portugal, Belgium and Hungary. He is an alumnus of IDFA Academy 2020, and Sarajevo Talents 2021.
His films were screened at several international film festivals around Europe such as IDFA, Sarajevo Film Festival, FipaDoc Biarritz, Astra Film Festival, Camerimage, and Jihlava IDFF.
Bálint is a mentor and lecturer on the DocNomads Master’s Course, he is also a member of MADOKE, the Hungarian Documentary Association.
